Past the south tower.
Approaching the Lower Peninsula. On my right is Lake Michigan...
...on my left, Lake Huron. Hydrologically, Lakes Michigan and Huron should be considered a single lake.
Getting very close to the end of the walk now, Fort Michilimackinac, now a historical park, can be seen on the shore.
Now having taken the bus ride back to St. Ignace on the Upper Peninsula, here is the grave of Jesuit missionary and explorer Father Jacques Marquette.
Marker indicating the grave and translating the Latin text on the grave.
Nearby statue of Father Marquette.
Tipi outside the Museum of Ojibwa Culture
The Museum of Ojibwa Culture in St. Ignace was previously a mission church. It was definitely worth visiting.
